Uberspace is a hosting platform targeted at people who want to look behind the scenes, do things we didn’t anticipate and generally prefer working with a text-based console. Our objective is to not only host the content you’d like to see on the web, but also to introduce you to Linux and basic shell usage.

Changelog

Latest Version: 7.17 (2025-11-26)

As we’re getting ready for Uberspace 8 beta we’re of course still working on Uberspace 7. Version 7.17 is more of a maintenance release for your and our peace of mind, here you go:

Changed

  • We now enforce the mail limit of 60 mails / hour. Enjoy, spammers!

  • We reboot our servers now automatically under certain conditions. This is nothing new per se, we just did it manually until now.

  • Modern Ciphers (chacha20-poly1305@openssh.com,aes256-gcm@openssh.com,aes128-gcm@openssh.com,aes256-ctr,aes192-ctr,aes128-ctr), KexAlgorithms (curve25519-sha256,curve25519-sha256@libssh.org,ecdh-sha2-nistp256,ecdh-sha2-nistp384,ecdh-sha2-nistp521,diffie-hellman-group-exchange-sha256) and MACs (hmac-sha2-512-etm@openssh.com,hmac-sha2-256-etm@openssh.com,hmac-sha2-512,hmac-sha2-256)for sshd.

Fixed

  • files in /var/lib/php-sessions now have a maximum age of 7 days
